Join the annual EUscreen Symposium on December 9th and 10th in Barcelona.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence technologies has opened new horizons for the audiovisual sector, offering opportunities for creativity, and efficiency. However, as AI becomes increasingly integrated into audiovisual archives, it raises complex questions around its responsible use; ethics, copyright, and the strategic role it gained in the institutions. The EUscreen symposium “Responsible Use of AI in Audiovisual Archives,” aims to explore these and other topics by bringing together experts from the creative sector, academic researchers, and archivists.
The event will feature panels that delve into critical topics such as the ethical considerations of AI applications in the audiovisual domain, the evolving landscape of copyright law in the face of AI-generated content, and the development of robust AI strategies within audiovisual institutions. Through discussions on current practices and emerging trends, participants will gain insights into how AI can be harnessed responsibly to preserve, curate, and creatively engage with audiovisual heritage.
This symposium aspires to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue that balances innovation with responsibility, ensuring that AI’s integration into audiovisual archives aligns with ethical standards and respects the rights of creators and institutions alike.
The symposium will feature contributions from leading figures in computer science, law and archival studies, setting the stage for insightful discussions on how AI is transforming archival practices and the audiovisual industry. In addition to an innovative keynote, there will be several panel discussions covering critical topics.
The “Responsible Use of AI in Audiovisual Archives” symposium promises to be a critical forum for knowledge exchange, providing attendees with actionable insights and strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in archiving.
