Enriching photographic heritage through citizen science.
This second workshop from the Citizen Heritage project is focused on engaging university students with digital cultural heritage and the importance of good metadata associated to online collections.
In this event, students of Master and Bachelor courses in digital humanities and film history at Media and Communication department of Pázmány Péter Catholic University worked on metadata improvement, by annotating and enriching the beautiful digitized collection of early photography and film stills published by OSZK the National Széchényi Library in Europeana.
The new Europeana Gallery Builder tool was also be presented as an engaging and easy to use feature that enables to explore and reuse Europeana collections in curation activities, by creating short visual stories on specific themes, in the form of galleries to be published on Europeana portal.
