RICHES presented at Digital Past 2016 – New technologies in heritage, interpretation & outreach

Organised by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, Digital Past is an annual two day conference which showcases innovative digital technologies and techniques for data capture, interpretation and dissemination of the heritage of Wales, the UK and beyond. Bringing together individuals from the commercial, public, academic, third sector and voluntary sectors, the conference aims to promote learning, discussion and debate around a range of digital technologies in current use, or in development, to record and understand the historic environment.

2016 edition takes place on 10 and 11 February.

Prof. Forbes (Coventry University), the coordinator of RICHES, will deliver a keynote speech to discuss some of the important changes which are impacting on cultural heritage in the contemporary world; research based on the work undertaken by RICHES project.

RICHES International Conference concluded successfully!
The first international conference of the RICHES project concluded with success. The event, organised by partner Promoter in the aristocratic venue of Palazzo Lanfranchi, was attended by over 150 people. A digital archive about dance: the Siobhan Davies RePlay
Many of the objects within the archive collection have been sourced directly from Davies and her collaborators' personal collections, whilst other items have been kindly lent by institutions and private contributors. Almost all of these objects that would otherwise remain inaccessible and unavailable appear online for the first time, and in many cases represent the first time objects have been viewed by anyone since their original date of creation.
"Achieving Impact" international conference
NET4SOCIETY organised a transnational conference which took place in Athens on the 26th and 27th February 2014 on the occasion of the Greek EU Council presidency. RICHES Project Coordinator Neil Forbes, of Coventry University (UK), and RICHES Communication Manager Antonella Fresa of Promoter Srl (Italy) attended the conference as invited experts.
