The challenges of water and irrigation in the MediterraneanThe Symposium on Hydraulic Heritage will take place in Nice and in Saint Martin Vésubie from 28 to 30 April, 2025. The three days of debates and field work represent an international meeting between academics and practitioners from countries around the Mediterranean to discuss the future of the intangible cultural heritage of traditional irrigation and its economic, ecological, heritage and social issues for Mediterranean communities. The event is organized by the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Stories, Cultures and Societies (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Récits, Cultures et Sociétés LIRCES) at Université Côte d'Azur and by the Association Arche de Beyla. José M. Martín Civantos of University of Granada and Desidério Sares Batista of University of Algarve are members of the Scientific Committee of the Symposium. The University of Granada and the University of Algarve have been partners in the INCULTUM project. José M. Martín Civantos has been project's coordinator and led the pilot about landscapes and oasis in the Altiplano de Granada. He is currently project coordinator of the SECreTour project funded by Horizon Europe Programme. Desidério Sares Batista led the pilots about the agrarian coastal plain pf the Campina de Faro. |
