MuDA stands for Museum of Digital Art. The Museum of Digital Art is dedicated to the art of code and the questions raised by the interactions between data, algorithms and society. It will have a virtual presence, on pretty much every screen connected to the internet. And a physical presence in the ground floor of the first high rise building of Zurich, Switzerland. weLand Association is a cultural NGO founded in Asti, South Piedmont (Italy), in August 2012. Its aim is to develop a regional network of individuals and groups interested in aggregating, sharing and reusing open data for GLAMs, education institutions and tourism stakeholders. The idea of the association arises from the firm belief that innovation (and so the elements which innovation is generated by, culture and creativity) should take into account a bottom-up engagement of the community, in order to fully realise its potential and to become a real driver of social and economic development. The fourth NALIS Forum (Sofia, 12 May 2015) concluded successfully, attended by many international experts from leading libraries and library networks, museums, universities and cultural organisations. Among the special guests, delegates of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture. Antonella Fresa of Promoter SRL took part in the conference as invited speaker. Lecturers (from Europe and USA) shared their experience in local and global collaboration (not only within the library community, but also within the IT community) in the framework of projects involving the digitisation of cultural heritage, creative re-use of digitised cultural contents and citizen participation. Aim of the game, taking place on May 17 – 20 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is in the title: over four intensive days of competitive creation, participants of “Gamify it! Hackathon!” will set out to prove whether it’s possible to achieve a measurable impact towards sustainable development through fun and engagement. Jointly organised by GIZ, iceaddis and eLearning Africa, the hackathon will finish up at the eLearning Africa conference on May 20, where teams will present their newly-developed gamified tools.
