Invisible Serdica is a mobile app that reveals objects of historical significance in the ancient city of Serdica, situated at the present location of the Bulgarian capital (Sofia). This tool enables you to get a realistic insight into some of the places, now hidden under the ground, emphasises on some of the unknown cultural aspects related to them by granting access to the especially edited multimedia tales and legends, curious stories and bibliographic data to various sources found in the NALIS Union Catalogue (NALIS UC). A new version of the DPF Manager has been released! There are several improvements in this update. The most significant one is the redesign of the reports section, where now it is easier (and much faster) to browse the analyzed reports, transforming between formats, and also converting a quick check to a full check. Working paper by Karol J. Borowiecki and Trilce Navarrete. One of the available tools in cultural policy at the national level includes the reduction of VAT rates for cultural goods and services. An improved understanding of the reduced cultural taxes will allow to effectively employ this policy in order to support consumption of, among others, the fast growing digital heritage markets, such as the e-books market. A reduction in VAT rates can stimulate household consumption and consequently should be designed in conjunction with a national cultural policy. Continue reading
